Anyone that sells a product that requires packaging should be sure to attend packaging conventions and conferences. This is an excellent way to stay up to date with the latest trends in the industry and be one of the first companies to take advantage of them on your particular box style. There are packaging conventions all over the world, but we will focus on those in North America since those will be easier for North American residents to get to.
The Dieline Conference
The Dieline Conference is an annual packaging convention. This year, it will be in Boston from April 30 to May 3. Over the course of four days, the ninth annual convention will explore how brand experience is evolving and how packaging is deeply connected to this brand experience. There will be leading designers with experience working with the top brands around the world, providing attendees with plenty of insight.
Luxepack New York
For those with products focused on the luxury sector, the Luxepack New York convention is a must. This exclusive event on May 16 and 17 will target fine foods, wellness, spirits and wines, fragrance, and beauty brands. There will be multiple conferences over the course of the two days, including on key trends for autumn and winter and one focused on the impact of millennials on luxury culture and packaging.
American Packaging Summit 2018
The Generis American Packaging Summit 2018 will be in Chicago on June 6 and 7. This conference is for packaging executives, giving them the chance to discover trends and strategic insights as well as best practices for everything from packaging innovation and materials to branding and design. All industry sectors will be represented, and the topics will include design and innovation, materials and technology, and sustainability.
LabelExpo Americas 2018
This packaging conference focuses specifically on the labels for product packaging, including package printing. It will be in Chicago on Sept. 25–27. During the convention, you will get to see live demonstrations for technology, including inks, finishing units, presses, substrates, and dies.
Pack Into the Future
This packaging conference will be in Montreal on Sept. 26 and 27, with preconference activities on Sept. 25. Throughout the convention, there will be speakers, networking opportunities, and exhibits to explore.
PACK EXPO International
Yet another packaging conference in Chicago, this one will take place from Oct. 14–17. This conference expects to have more than 2,500 exhibitors and 50,000 attendees, making it among the largest of its type. This is actually just one of several PACK EXPO shows scheduled throughout the year in various cities. There was one on April 16–18 in Philadelphia. There will be another in Mexico City from June 5–8; one in Guadalajara, Mexico, from June 11–13; and one in Las Vegas from Sept. 23–25. The same organization also hosts industry-specific expos, including those for healthcare and food.
